1st Day of School Cookie Tradition + Recipe
Looking for a way to make your little student feel extra special on their first day? This new tradition will have kids looking forward to their first day for weeks!
Start by adding these to a large bowl: 2 sticks butter ¾ cup brown sugar ¾ cup white sugar Mix well, then add- 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp water Again, mix well.
Now add to your batter: 1 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda 1 ½ cups flour 2 cups oatmeal ½ bag chocolate chips (or more if you like)
Your dough should be really sticky. That means you're on the right track =) Now drop the dough onto a pizza pan.
Spread the dough around the pan nice and even. Bake at 350 for ten minutes and check every two to three minutes after, until golden brown.
I've iced a lot of baked goods since having kids, and one of the easiest ways is the ziplock bag method. Put frosting and your choice of food coloring in bag, smash around until completely mixed. Then just snip off a corner.
Easy. No more juggling around those flimsy little bags they sell in stores that leak frosting from the bottom and top. Just write out your text and you're done!
The first day of school will be an awesome one!
