Summer (or Weekend) Activity Jars

From the amazing ladies @ The Crafting Chicks.

Scissor Time!  Snip snip.

Now you can start cutting out all of your activities! This would be a great time to break out the safety scissors and have your little one practice their cutting skills.

Create Your Lists. More Color!

Next you make up your lists! Sit down with your kids and think up everything you would like to do this summer. Either write or type them. Colored paper really adds a little something extra to the jars. The yellow paper has activities and games, the orange paper has outings and field trips, and the blue paper has food/treat ideas.

Check out the links at the bottom of the page for idea print outs!

Getting Started. Reuse!

This has to be one of my favorite uses for all of the spaghetti jars my family goes through. I know for a fact my chore jar to help decide who did what chore was a huge failure, but the girls at The Crafting Chicks have made this super fun way to keep track of (and also make sure fun Summer activities actually get done).

All you need is 3 jars with lids. Any size will do. Most families already have something that will work around the house or they will soon.

Get To Folding! Kid Activity.

This is another part that is great for little ones. Have them fold every piece of paper and put them in jars by color. The jars are so bright and colorful who wouldn't want to just reach in and see what fun awaits =)

You can also go ahead and paint the jar lids. We went with black (it does go with everything you know...).

Add Labels! Creativity Is Everything.

Using a circle paper punch, create simple labels for your jars. Or for an extra short cut, you can use round printable stickers. Scalloped circle paper punch on matching color paper adds a beautiful background to your labels.

“Activities and Games”= fun things to do such as jump on the trampoline or play freeze tag or go on a scavenger hunt or make giant bubbles.

“Let’s Eat!” = ideas for yummy treats to make or anything having to do with FOOD. For example, make cupcakes or build fruit kebabs or have a fondue party.

“Oh, the Places We’ll Go!” = outings to local parks, swimming pools, museums, hikes, going to the mall.

Here are the lists: Activities & Games, Let's Eat!, Oh, The Places We'll Go! Just open and print! There are even blank lines to add in your kids favorites! Have your kids draw one activity or all three! Congrats, you just made summer awesome!
